Let’s build a process!
Whether it’s my Swiss or German heritage, I’ve been a stickler for details and efficiency most of life. This has served me well in my career as these traits are not often associated with Designers and Art Directors. With over 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising departments, I’ve picked up a few things on how best to get things done (in the most efficient & effective way). I pride myself on taking the path of least resistance when delivering a large volume of work accurately and ahead of deadline. I have decades of experience in staffing and creating workflow processes within a creative team, assessing company and department assets and project delivery. Everything from file naming to server structure and asset management.
I also have years of experience in building Digital Asset Management systems for marketing departments. Both internal, as well as out of the box solutions like Brandfolder.
I’d love to chat about your needs and how I can help make your teams and department more efficient!
case studies
Richmond American Homes
In my time as Senior Creative Services Manager at Richmond American Homes I lead the process of re-developing our creative asset server. The obstacle was to bring the current asset library up to an industry standard level of organization. Everything from file naming conventions, file size and folder structure was re-designed and categorized. The majority of these assets were images, so file size along with searchability needed to be of upmost importance. We developed a server structure that allowed us to easily organize product by region, state, city, product and model. Even further more we integrated a naming convention that not only highlighted key asset information at a quick glance but also allowed for accurate search results on a broader scale. Over my 5 years at Richmond we continued to update and evolve this asset system we had successfully implemented, making the entire marketing department more efficient and reducing costly errors.
pearl izumi
Pearl Izumi approached me with a unique company-wide challenge. They had multiple asset categories spanning many years that needed to be examined, organized and them migrated into a new asset platform. The most challenging problem was developing a process where the images could be easily organized and searched. But first we needed to develop a process where the product meta data within the image could be added as none of this previously existed. We then needed to migrate all the assets to a new online Digital Asset Manager and after several interviews with the top industry platforms, we chose Brandfolder. Over the next 6 months I managed a team of designers that categorized and added the meta data to tens of thousands of assets. I also worked directely with the sales reps and project managers at Brandfolder. Upon completion, the company could search the asset library for exact or broad product info and get a specific or wide range of images based on search criteria making their internal process much more efficient and accurate.
Brandfolder was so impressed by our project rollout that they chose it to highlight it in a company case study. This project was so successful that the parent company of Pearl Izumi-Shimano hired me to development 5 more brand platforms.
Shimano
Pearl Izumi was a subsidiary of Shimano and after hearing how successful the digital asset manager had become, Shimano requested 5 more sites for their largest US brands. Again I led 5 different teams in the assessment and creation of their separate digital asset platforms. I worked with 5 Marketing Managers across the nation to replicate what we had done. There were unique business and asset priorities for each business which we addressed and supported. Since we already had the successful blueprint the development and implementation took much less time. We successfully built these 5 projects in half the time.
